Cycling 200 miles to raise funds for AToS

For her 60th birthday, AToS volunteer and founder member Lindsay Wright decided to cycle 200 miles from Abergavenny where she lives  to Morecambe where she was born, to raise money for Abergavenny Town of Sanctuary.  She couldn’t believed she was 60 and 4 days later when she finally arrived in Morecombe on her birthday, after battling with rain, thunderstorms  and heavy traffic she couldn’t believe she had achieved it!

Lindsay has raised an incredible £1,240 – well exceeding her original target o £500.   The money will be used to support resettled families from Syria and Afghanistan to find employment by contributing to the cost of training /qualifications, driving lessons, equipment, clothing etc .

Lindsay says: “I am astounded by people’s generosity – there are so many calls on our compassion and our finances. The fact people have chosen to give money to a small local group that supports refugees and asylum seekers is truly humbling.”

An amazing  feat of cycling Lindsay and a great achievement – thank you so much from everyone at Abergavenny Town of Sanctuary  and thank you to all  who donated.
